Types Of Professional Lasers

There are so many different At Home LHR tools. Just to make matters worse, there are also several different kinds of professional Lasers.

My favorite Laser Hair Removal System is the CoolGlide. This professional laser doesn’t give that burning, stinging sensation from the flashes like the other systems do. In addition the difference between the coolglide and other laser systems is that they use gel during the treatment. This adds to the whole ‘cooling’ aspect and it really reduces the level of discomfort during the treatment & after.

The are 5 main different systems

Diode

Most painful laser and similar effectiveness to the Alexandrite. The Diode is more painful because the laser goes deeper into the skin. The other lasers have a higher wavelength compared to the Diode. This might be more painful, but consequently more effective in the long term. So if you don’t hurt easily or know that your skin isn’t too sensitive this laser will be very effective on you. I didn’t like it. it hurt like hell haha, especially you know, down there..

Alexandrite

This laser is most effective to treat the larger body areas like: back, legs & arms. Also this laser is most successful on light skin tones. This laser is less painful than the Diode laser.

ND:YAG

This long pulsed laser is the only laser which is truly the most effective for people with darker colored skin tones. It’s even said to be less effective on light skin tones with blonde or red hairs. Because the laser goes so deep into the skin people do report that it can be quite painful. The long-pulsed 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser is a safe and effective method of long-term hair removal for people with darker skin tones.

Cutera CoolGlide

This laser uses a cooling method through 2 adjustments. first, It uses cold air simultaneously with the hot laser flash so you don’t feel much of the burning sensation. Second, the laser technician will put gel on the treatment area which also cools it down. This Cutera CoolGlide Laser they use in clinics, is the BEST laser for ALL skin types. And compared to the Nd:YAG and Diode a lot less painful. I’ve had treatments with all 3 types of lasers. And the CoolGlide is by far the least painful laser out there. They also use lubricant on your skin while they move the laser in a sweeping motion on top of your skin.

The skin WILL absorb some of the heat so cooling the area down after the treatment with an instant cool pack is a must! You can find those HERE← For more After Laser must haves Click Here←

Ruby

This is the oldest type of laser on the market. It works only on light skin tones and canNOT be used on darker or even sun-tanned skin tones.
