You’re probably here because you’re either plan on having Laser Hair Removal treatment or already had the it. Maybe your skin didn’t fel too great after the laser treatment and you want to know how to take better care of your skin. Taking good care of your (laser) treated area is crucial for getting the best results from your Laser Hair Removal treatment. Your skin will be a little tender after your appointment. A lot less so if you used an AT-Home laser.
If you just want to know what to do and buy, for the ‘after care’, of a Laser treatment Click Here. I totally get it, I also hate reading through a whole post… (So I made it into my job)… Yeah I don’t know either haha. If you do want to stay here and have a little read, yay! let’s go:)
So depending on your Clinic they may or may not provide you with a Cool Pack for after your laser appointment. I made a list of all the items you need before starting your treatment. This is most relevant for in-clinic treatments because the lasers they use in there are a little more powerful than the once you use at home. Have a Look Here:) If you want to stay on this page, then let me try to sum up all the essentials for you right here.
- Loose fitting clothing (don’t forget comfy underwear too)
- Cool Pack
- Aloe cooling gel
- fragrance free body lotion to nourish your skin
- Let the hairs just fall out, don’t pluck them!
- Don’t wax in between laser sessions. Just shave.
For At-Home Laser Devices
There isn’t too much aftercare with at-home laser sessions. Your skin isn’t as impacted than with in-clinic treatments. Unless you burn yourself, you just need a nice and nourishing moisturizer after the treatment and you’re good. When you made a little error of judgement and put the device on a higher level and burned yourself, you might want to get some cooling Aloe gel to sooth the skin. And keep it moisturized afterwards. And if it does look a little red and angry maybe go get an ice pack and cool it for a bit. Don’t put the ice pack right against the skin, definitely wrap a towel around it before holding it against the area. Just have a look at the after laser must haves here, you’ll find all the good stuff.
After The After Care
Make sure to keep the area hydrated with a simple lotion, preferably unscented to avoid any irritation to the skin. I am a big big fan of CeraVe lotions. Or anything Aloe gel is also great. Anything that’s cooling is great because after your treatment, your skin will hold onto the heat of the laser. Cooling the area down with a cool-pack and/or some cooling gel will really help taking out that heat from the laser and getting your skin back to it’s normal self. Have a look at all the items I recommend to get before you get laser hair removal treatment.
